Chateau Faurie de Souchard 2003

Lovely dark ruby hue with dark berry highlights. Brilliant, clear color.
Powerful, complex. Notes of mature raisins, very slightly meaty. After agitation, touches of minerals (flint) accompanied by leather nuances are revealed; the ensemble ends with a very fine woodiness.
Good density and texture in the mouth. The tannins are mature, of quality, and are beginning to be integrated. After a light aeration, we find a lovely, flavorful palette of the nose, with a delightful marriage of fruits and nuanced game and spices (cinnamon, vanilla). Good balance. Warm, finely wooded finale.
